All AHG members are hereby notified that, beginning April 17th, 2023, the Election Committee will be accepting nominations for the Board of Directors election to be held in August 2023. Nominations will be accepted until July 14th.
The Board of Directors is comprised of 10-12 elected representatives of the membership. Their duty is to act on behalf of the members to see that the mission of the organization, as stated in the by-laws, is carried out and that the organization is financially sound. The AHG has a working council. All members of the council are expected to serve on one or two committees and provide leadership for various projects.
In the upcoming election there are seats available for Registered Herbalists and for General Members (including Student Members). Members of the Board of Directors serve two-year terms. The upcoming term begins on January 1, 2024 and ends on December 31, 2025.
In keeping with our commitment as an organization to diversify our membership and leadership to reflect the rich mosaic of herbalists and herbalism that make up our community, the current Board of Directors and staff strongly encourage our members who are people of color and anyone from other marginalized or under-represented communities to consider running for the Board this year.
Anyone interested in learning more is invited to contact us at office@americanherbalistsguild.com. And remember, any member in good standing may nominate another member in good standing as a candidate.
