AHG Announces Departure of Executive Director, Mimi Hernandez, and Exciting New Chapter Ahead

The AHGBoard of Directors would like to announce with mixed emotions that Mimi Hernandez will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director after 11 years. Anyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside Mimi will have witnessed the depth of her commitment to AHG both before and during her time as an employee. Her dedication has been instrumental in the exceptional growth and impact we have achieved during her tenure.

"I am deeply grateful for the privilege of serving as the Executive Director of AHG and witnessing the incredible growth and impact of this organization. Many thanks to the AHG community and Board of Directors for their unwavering support. I have every confidence that AHG will continue to thrive as it moves into this exciting new chapter.” - Mimi Hernandez

While we are sad to see Mimi leave, we are also excited for her as she embarks on new and challenging opportunities. We will greatly miss her leadership and presence in our daily operations. However, Mimi will continue to support us as a consultant and assist in facilitating a smooth transition of office responsibilities. She will also maintain her engagement with our generous donors and sponsors. Most importantly, she will remain an active member of our vibrant herbal community.

In light of this transition, the Board of Directors has appointed Christina Lynch as the Interim Executive Director. Christina will work closely with our dedicated staff to manage the daily operations of AHG. This transition coincides with our ongoing efforts to modernize and update our website, presenting an opportunity for us to revise our processes and offerings. Our aim is to better serve our membership and the broader community.

Toward the middle of 2024, the Board of Directors will initiate a search to find our next Executive Director, with the intention of bringing someone on board by the latter part of the year. We will keep you informed of our progress in the coming months as we work towards this goal.

Sincerely,

AHG Board of Directors
