JAHG Fall 2023- Call for Art & Article Submissions
We are seeking submissions for the Fall 2023 issue of the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild. We invite authors to contribute manuscripts on all aspects of herbalism with an emphasis on the clinical, historical, and professional application of botanical medicines. We encourage herbalists of all persuasions to submit pieces for the journal, with the hope of especially elevating the voices of racialized, queer/trans/non-binary, and chronically ill/disabled herbalists globally. We accept manuscripts on a variety of topics, ranging from short pieces such as book reviews or case studies to longer peer-reviewed articles on therapeutics, materia medica, and ethnobotany. Check out the following submission guidelines for more information about accepted topics and word limits: www.americanherbalistsguild.com/sites/default/files/-jahg_author_guidelines_2016.pdf
The theme for the fall issue is Preserving Herbal Legacies. We hope to honor diversity in the practice of herbal medicine and to equally recognize the validity of traditional herbal practice and modern science-based clinical phytotherapy. Submissions related to this topic will be prioritized. That said, we will happily review any article that meets the criteria outlined in our submission guidelines, including those that fall outside of the issue’s theme. We welcome submissions from both seasoned and new writers and are happy to provide support throughout the writing process.
Additionally, the JAHG is now accepting art submissions to be included throughout the journal. Visual art such as photography, drawing, painting, mixed media collages, and more will be considered.
